University of the Fraser Valley

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) was established in 1974, with campuses across British Columbia. UFV is nationally recognized for student success, the superiority of its learning environment, and the creative integration of programming with work in local communities.

UFV offers more than 100 programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate level. Flexible learning programs include in-class and online programming that is structured and customized to the needs of individual students. In addition, co-operative education programs combine academic pursuits with experiential learning.

The University of the Fraser Valley’s vision is to provide the best undergraduate education in Canada, and to be a leader in the social, cultural, economic, and environmental development of the Fraser Valley. UFV places priority on its students and their learning needs and goals. The University recognizes that education is an ongoing process, and is dedicated to making itself accessible to students with diverse backgrounds and interests.

UFV is committed to excellence in teaching, comprehensive programming, and regionally-focused research, demonstrated through its extensive campus network and community-based institutional model. The University participates in a number of community partnerships, with institutions such as municipal governments, museums, and private sector organizations.

Campus Life

The University of the Fraser Valley recognizes that post-secondary education is about more than just academics, so the University honours students with a Co-Curricular Record that encourages and rewards experiential learning and contributions made to campus life outside of the classroom.

There are a number of ways to get involved with UFV’s campus life, including the Student Life Ambassador program, the Student Engagement Team, retreats and conferences, and on-campus publications. The University of the Fraser Valley features a student-run newspaper and radio station, which keeps students tuned in to the events and happenings on campus, in their community, and around the world.

The University of the Fraser Valley hosts events throughout the year, including workshops, sports events, career days, and socials.
