Trinity Western University

Located in Langley, British Columbia and established in 1962, Trinity Western University (TWU) overs more than 40 undergraduate programs and over 15 graduate-level programs. TWU is Canada’s largest independent Christian liberal arts institution.

TWU’s six core values demonstrate the University’s commitment to faith-based learning:

  • Obeying the authority of scripture – TWU wholeheartedly embraces the Bible’s teachings of faith, ethics, and the Christian way of life in both individual and corporate contexts.
  • Pursuing faith-based and faith-affirming learning – TWU believes that learning starts by understanding that God calls all humans to be stewards of His creation.
  • Having a transformational impact on culture – Trinity Western University aims to influence individuals and the culture they live in by encouraging thought, word, and deed on the basis of the biblical principles of justice, mercy, and hope.
  • Servant leadership as a way of life – the University seeks to teach and embody the pattern of servant leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ.
  • Striving for excellence in university education – TWU promotes academic and intellectual excellence, as well as high standards of spiritual integrity.
  • Discipling the community – everyone at TWU, including students and faculty, are encouraged to deepen their understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Christ.

TWU has received seven consecutive A+ grades by Quality of Teaching and Learning.

Campus Life

TWU offers students many opportunities to get involved in clubs covering interests including athletics, arts, recreation, leadership, and ministry. Student groups host events such as pancake breakfasts, theatre productions, exhibitions, and orientation programs. TWU’s active social atmosphere ensures that students are given many chances to participate in an active, lively culture while deepening their Christian understanding and contributing their own unique experiences to TWU’s campus culture.

Trinity Western publishes three student publications, including one of the most decorated student newspapers in North America, as well as an annual literary journal and an annual yearbook.

TWU has three extension campuses: the Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, the Bellingham Campus in Washington, USA, and the coming Richmond Campus in Richmond, British Columbia. TWU’s roots extend beyond Langley, British Columbia, but the University remains a community-focused institution. TWU received an A+ rating from MacLean’s magazine in 2011 for its sense of community on campus.
