About SAIT Polytechnic
Established in 1916, The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, or commonly referred to as SAIT Polytechnic or simply SAIT, is the oldest college in Calgary and one of the oldest in Alberta.
Known as the countries very first publicly funded technical post-secondary institute, the school now offers more than 100 programs to students, primarily in the areas of technology, business, and skilled trades. The school was also named the best research college in Canada by RE$EARCH Infosource Inc.
Student Life at SAIT Polytechnic
Located in downtown Calgary, the schools main campus offers students the best of urban living, in close proximity to the best the city has to offer. SAIT Polytechnic conducts research in many different areas; however, there are 5 key areas where the school focuses its research efforts. They are: Renewable Fuel, Green Building Technologies, Information and Communications Technology, Environmental Technologies, and Sports and Wellness Engineering Technologies.
