Established in 1964 as a comprehensive community college, Red Deer College, which is also known as RDC, has grown over the years into one of the largest community colleges in the province of Alberta. Located in the town of Red Deer, the college offers credit and non-credit programs to students and the college is part of the Alberta Rural Development Network.
In total, the school offers more than 75 programs, including certificates, diplomas, and apprenticeships as well as applied degrees and a university transfer program with a select number of universities in the province. Red Deer college also offers a wide variety of continuing education and distance learning programs, attracting well over 10, 000 students each year to these programs.
However, the is perhaps best known for its award winning Performing Arts programs and its athlete, as the college has won more than 100 titles and counting, making the school a great choice for student athletes.
Campus Life at Red Deer College
Even though it is one of the largest community colleges in the province, RDC makes an effort to maintain a small community feel on campus. They do their best to maintain small class sizes, with most classes have fewer than 40 students, and focus on providing practical learning opportunity for students from teachers that are accessible and willing to work individually with students.
On campus there are more than 15 students groups that you can job and RDC regular hosts more than 20, 000 people annually for workshops, seminars and academic events, making campus a great place to study and to network with like-minded individuals.

To take your education experience to the next level, students also have the opportunity to take courses through the University Transfer programs and complete a degree at partnership universities such as University of Calgary, University of Alberta, and Athabasca University.
