Mount Allison University

Mount Allison University, also known as MTA, is a science and liberal arts university located in Sackville, New Brunswick, which primarily focuses on undergraduate programming. Mount Allison’s reputation for leadership goes back a long way; MTA was the first university in the British Empire to award a Bachelor’s degree to a woman and was also the first university in the country to offer Internet access across the campus. The oldest university art gallery in Canada can still be found on MTA’s campus.

At MTA, students can choose between Bachelor’s degrees in Arts, Commerce, Science, Fine Arts and Music. Further education offered is Master’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry, Bilingualism Certificates and a new Bachelor’s degree in Aviation.

Mount Allison has been ranked Canada’s best undergraduate university 17 times in the last 23 years, as judged by Maclean’s magazine. This is more than any other university in the country. The university also holds one of the best records for Rhodes Scholarships earned in the country – with a total of 52 Rhodes Scholars and counting.

Established in 1839, MTA is situated in a scenic and historical area. The school attracts talented minds and creative souls from one side of the globe to the other. There are excellent opportunities and services for international students, as well as study abroad and exchange programs for local students.
