About Grand Prairie Regional College
Established in 1966, Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) offers a variety of apprenticeship and academic programs to the area of Grand Prairie, Alberta. Comprehensive programs at CPRC include certificates and diplomas, university programs, academic upgrading, and even workforce development courses.
The college’s main campus is Grande Prairie with a second location in Fairview, Alberta. Both campuses are ideally located in the core of their community, with a selection of amenities within walking distance.
CPRC has a variety of collaborative programs with The University of Alberta, as well as other institutions. This allows students to complete some bachelor degrees right at GPRC, while other programs require that students transfer to another school to complete their program.
In partnership with the University of Alberta, GPRC offers a Secondary Education program. This new addition is unique program for the area, finally allowing High School teachers to be trained locally.
International students are an important part of the student body at GPRC. The College offers students courses in ESL through the International Education Centre. The college and university credit-based courses are open to all foreign students to enroll in.

At GPRC, students receive a quality education, furthered with the help of partnerships in the community. The school offers a variety of academic programs, with a total of 9 degrees available to be completed at the college. The school also offers workforce development courses to the general public, aimed at personal and professional development.
13 certificate and diploma programs are offered at GPRC, some of which include Animal Health Technology, Associate of Science, Computer Systems Technology, and Educational Assistant to name a few. In general, students must complete two semesters for certificate programs and four semesters for diploma programs.
GPRC also offers academic upgrading, opening the door for a variety of learning opportunities including grade 12 equivalency and literacy courses. Also offered are College preparation courses to help students earn the prerequisites needed to enter college-level courses.
Unique to CPRC’s Fairview Campus is the Harley-Davidson Technician program. This one-of-a kind program is the only authorized training center for Harley-Davidson in Canada.
GPRC is located in the heart of the community, with easy access to a variety of activities. Restaurants, movies, and shopping are all just a walk away and public transit is only as far as the main entrance.
There are a variety of activities on campus as well, ranging from leisurely activities to sport. Students will never be board with a climbing gym, a fitness centre, a theater, and a Circle of Aboriginal Friends. There are intramural sports and unique events throughout the year. The Wolves Athletics give students the opportunity to participate in competitive sports and build on their leadership skills.
GPRC is well known for the innovative research produced by the Centre for Research & Innovation. This department leads the development of applied research and innovation at GPRC, working with a variety of clients to bring research to the market. These research opportunities enrich student’s education, giving them a canvas to explore and apply their talents.
