Life on Campus

Canadian University College (CUC) is located in Lacombe, Alberta with its roots going back as far as 1907. The school is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada; also it is affiliated with the Association of Theological Schools. At Canadian University College there is a strong focus on service in local and global communities.

At CUC students will find more than 20 diverse undergraduate degree programs. The school offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, (BBA)Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees, a Bachelor of Education degree (Bed), Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees and a Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree.

There are a number of unique areas of study such as the Adventure Based Counseling, Behavioral Science, International Studies, outward Pursuits and more.

Because CUC has a strong Christian community, there are opportunities for students to strengthen their faith alongside fellow students.  There are local ministries, and opportunities to worship in class. The school also hosts a number of long-term and short-term trips, which are designed to offer spiritual growth and individual discovery

Recognition of CUC

CUC has a proven track record in its success with preparing its medical school students, its dental school students, and its music students for their future careers.
CUC also played a part in the China Olympic celebration. In 2008, the school Choral Union had the special honour of performing in Beijing, China at a pre-Olympic celebration.   

Student Life

Students may choose to live in residence or in off campus housing. For those who choose to live on Campus, Canadian University College has two residence dorms, Lakeview Hall and Maple Hall. Lakeview Hall is a unique residence with men and women separated by the north and south wings. It is a spacious residence with couches and places for students to study or just relax. Maple Hall is typically home to upperclassmen.

There are tons of opportunities on campus to join into something fun and memorable. The Physical Education Center is an impressive and modern facility, offering lots of diverse activities. Students can swing into the 250meter swimming pool from the ropes, or relax in the sauna, or maybe playa game of racquetball. The facility has a weight training area with fitness equipment, and a large gymnasium.

Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities are endless, from bands, choir, and orchestra to joining the Dramatic society or the students association. There are countless things to enrich student’s educational experience.

The CUC Aurora’s is the University varsity team with options in basketball, soccer and volleyball. If students are looking for less commitment, they can join one of the many intramural sports teams.
