Located in the magnetic Victoria, British Columbia, Camosun College provides quality programming to over 18,500 learners annually. Through its two campuses, Lansdowne and Interuban, Camosun offers certificates, diplomas, Bachelor degree, and continuing education programs.
Both campuses have something unique to offer students. At the Landsome campus programs include university transfer and preparatory programs, as well as career, technical, and vocational programs. The name “Camosun” is a local Lkwungen First Nation name meaning “where different water meet and are transformed,” and transforming lives is what the school has been striving to do since 1971. Camosun has a strong Aboriginal population, more than 1,000 and counting. Research at Camosun
At Camosun, research and innovation is a prime focus, with many resources and expert faculty working hard to find solutions to key issues of today. Students have the opportunity to participate in variety key research initiatives and apply their skills hands-on. Support and guidance is provided by the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI), which helps to obtain project funding, establish project partners, understand relevant policies and more. Students also have the option of participant in sports related research at the Sport Innovation and Research Center; this is the nation’s best sport education and training centre which is home to world-class researcher in sport and serves over 500 college students.
A range of prototyping and manufacturing services are carried out at the Camosun Technology Access Center. Here exporters in the field come tougher with engineering technology and state-of-the-art equipment to bring about innovation in diverse sectors.
There are a variety of recreational activities, sports and community events for students to get involved in. Students have access to fitness facilities, and community memberships to support them in staying healthily. The Camosun Chargers athletics has a variety of sports programs for students looking for something more challenging and competitive. This includes field teams in basketball, volleyball and golf.
Off campus, students have access to endless activities involving nature and the outdoors, as well as shopping, cultural events, social events and entertainment.
