About Bow Valley College (BVC)
Founded in 1965, Bow Valley College is located in Calgary, Alberta. Its main campus is conveniently located right in the downtown heart of Calgary, with its other 18 branches spread out across the province. BVC belongs to the Alberta Rural Development Network.

Bow Valley College offers certificates and diplomas in a number of career programs including Business and Administration, Health Care, Human Services and Justice. Academic upgrading, English Language Learning and a range of continuing education courses are also available at BVC, providing students with a wide variety of academic options.

Bow Valley College appeals to many students for their in-depth upgrading and flexible programs. Available at BVC are the High School Upgrading program, Aboriginal Upgrading Program, Academic Preparation, American Sign Language and GED Exams. The Aboriginal Upgrading Program is truly unique and seeks to fulfill the needs of Aboriginal students while stressing the importance of culture, tradition and community. Students studying American Sign Language at BVC will strengthen bilingual skills in ASL and English, while increasing their understanding of Deaf and Non-deaf culture.
Within the Chiu School of Business diploma programs are offered in Business Administration, Interior Decorating and Legal Assistant. A variety of certificate programs and online programs are available, something that an increasing number of students are looking from when considering programs.
If seeking a career in Health Care, students may choose from Pharmacy Technician Programs, Health Care Aide Programs, Nutrition Manager Certificate, Recreation Therapy Aide Certificate and the Practical Nurse Program.
The Justice Studies Diploma includes specializations in Correctional Studies, Law Enforcement and Youth Justice.
Bow Valley College has established a reputation among global leaders in English as a Second Language (ESL) Training, with over 25 year of international experience overseas. The college offers experienced instructors guiding students along their educational journey. Small and interactive classes promote engagement from each student and allows for individualized help from instructors.
Flexible courses can be completed full-time or part-time, providing students with options that suit their needs. Once students are enrolled in the ESL program they will be given an in-depth assessment to determine which level of English Language Learning they should be placed. There are four levels of classes available – International English Language Level 1, International English Language Level 2, Academic English 1, Academic English 2.
